It can be a creative expression, a truly spontaneous engagement, or any other expression we’d use to paint the picture of riding waves as more than just a “sport.” And of course that makes your surfboard an instrument of that art. Without it your dance with the ocean isn’t nearly as harmonious. Isn’t it beautiful – the endless list of transcendent qualities surfing can open your eyes to?
That’s the concept behind Soundwaves, an artistic piece exploring the similarities between the surfboard and the guitar. “They embody recklessness and harmony, both are an immersed experience, and offer a promise of escape that nothing else can compare,” says Justin Bruursema, one of Soundwaves’ creators. “They are more than just a collection of corners and curves, but represent an idea so powerful that they are elevated to a work of art and hung on the wall.”
